I am selling tis fabulous photograph for a client who has written a few words regarding its provenance... It was specially commissioned by Bloomsbury Publishing for the cover of Forties Fashion and taken by Snowdon in his studio in Battersea (I was there, so met Snowdon and Darcey, who was lovely) in 1997. It features Darcey Bussell modelling the original of Christian Dior's first New Look suit of 1947, with a jacket in palest pink (for those watching in colour) shantung and a skirt in black wool and crepe.The famous photo on the right is from 1947 and taken by fashion photographer John French. The book accompanied an exhibition on Forties Fashion at the Imperial War Museum.fs22
